A warm and joyful Christmas, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, etc., to all of you, faithful readers, as we prepare to turn the page on the calendar.

For me, the surpassing Gift of St. Nicholas this past year has been the responses you have provided to our published work and to our engagements with those of you who are clients; nothing could be more professionally or, frankly, intellectually rewarding.

And on a personal note, for the benefit of those of you who followed our “From the Client’s Seat” series, I wanted to share a picture taken yesterday at the most beautiful construction site I have ever seen: This is indeed the fabled “Corner” adjacent to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church at Amsterdam Avenue and West 100th Street.  When the mixed-use residential/commercial building is finished, it will generate a very material annual stream of income to St. Michael’s in the form of rent to the church as owner of a 99-year ground lease on the property.

Sometimes even adults get what they have fervently hoped for, for Christmas.

All the best for 2019!
