Case Study / Independent Director
Specific engagement spawns long-term relationship with a leading international firm
A firm that we had worked with on restructuring their compensation system (to encourage greater internal collaboration) and on reorganizing and reconfiguring their practice group structure asked us to stay on indefinitely to meet quarterly with the executive committee and on-demand with the managing partner and his two direct reports. We continued advising them in this capacity for nearly three years while the new systems and structures became thoroughly ingrained, helping with internal communications and modest midcourse corrections and refinements of the new policies. From time to time, on-demand, we still meet with senior firm leadership.
Results
In the four-year period spanning beginning to end of our formal engagement, RPL rose 11%, partnership turnover dropped dramatically, and the firm expanded their high-end “marquee” practice area from a regionally recognized standout to a national platform.
