The observant and—one can hope—the unobservant alike among you will note an updated look here at AdamSmithEsq.com.

We readily admit this “refresh” means more to us than it means to you, and we’re fine with that.  Indulge us a moment.

A few of the changes include:

  • Greater flexibility in proportions among side-by-side columns; less of a fixed, gridded look.
  • Likewise, greater flexibility in the height of elements on the page.
  • A fresher take on our signature design style; we intended that it retain the familiar and,we’d like to think, distinctive look and feel of Adam Smith, Esq., but with some shifts in positioning, emphasis, and transparency/opacity of elements.

Under the hood:

  • We’ve actually cloned the entire site and redeployed it on an entirely new foundation of WordPress templates, which give us much greater flexibility to  put up or take down a host of event- or time-sensitive banners on the fly.
  • And most importantly, the site is far more mobile-friendly, reconfiguring key elements in a fluid fashion depending on what screen size and orientation you’re viewing it in. (Google reported that last year mobile searches topped desktop searches, and those lines will never cross again.)

We could never have done this ourselves, nor did we:  Both the creative design vision and the hard back-end work are thanks to Chris Hoffman of faucethead creative, our crack site architect and visual genius.  If you like what you see, the kudos go to Chris.

So: Welcome! Please let us know if you have any comments, questions, or observations.  The editors are in.
