A little bit about who we are.
Andover’s founding partner, Felipe Adaime, held senior executive positions with large multinational companies and an investment bank, and was CFO for a decade at one of the largest and most prominent Brazilian law firms. The experience gained in these jobs allows him to reach precise diagnoses and design efficient and practical solutions, since he’s dealt with situations similar to ones currently facing his law firm clients today.
Felipe has an MBA from University of South Carolina, U.S.A with a major in Economics. He is a Finance professor at OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) and a regular speaker on law firm management at major seminars and legal industry events. He also contributes to important legal industry publications.
Bruce MacEwen, a lawyer and consultant to law firms on strategic and economic issues, is President of Adam Smith, Esq. In addition to consulting with law firms of all sizes and in all market segments, Bruce is the author of two books on the business of law: Growth Is Dead: Now What? (2013) and A New Taxonomy: The seven law firm business models (2014).
Bruce majored in economics at Princeton (BA magna cum laude) and earned his JD at Stanford Law School. Before starting Adam Smith, Esq., he practiced securities law in two large New York firms and in-house at Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter.
Janet Stanton, Partner, Adam Smith, Esq., is an accomplished business executive who brings a seasoned C-suite perspective to the business issues facing law firms. She was Executive Vice President of a global communications agency, and President of mid-size full-service agency, serving clients such as Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, Kraft, and the US Department of Defense. Immediately before joining Adam Smith, Esq., Janet was Director, Client Relationship Program, at Orrick, as the firm expanded its pilot initiative into a firm-wide priority to strengthen and deepen client relationships. Janet graduated from Vassar College as a Regent Scholar.
